I attempted to go to sleep last night around 11pm. I had work at 7am and had just finished working on Aaron Clay's truck. AKlay47 called me up a day or two ago saying he had transmission problems and that his tranny finally went kerplunk on him. He was looking for a car and I figured, what the hell, I have a day off. We get some addresses off of Craigslist for some potentials and ran by the bank to grab some monies.
Ok, get this. When we get the money from the teller (from the tube), Benni pipes up from the back seat, "Did you count it?" Right before Aaron starts thumbing through his money, he asks "Was the teller a woman?" I realize that the intercom may still be on so I look over at the main teller window. She's cracking up! She heard ever single word! WAY TO GO, Aaron. *sigh*
Anyways, we ran across some serious lemons before I finally decide to grab Davey Bob and we actually take a freakin' LOOK at Aaron's truck.
It wasn't the transmission.
In fact, it was incredibly simple. Aaron has more important things to do of course (I'm giving you the benefit here son hehe) than worry about his Chevy's maintenance, because they supposedly never break *rofl a lil bit*) He just needed new plug wires and spark plugs really, because the ones on it were disentigrating. Doneskis. Truck fixed, everyone is happy. Aaron gets two slaps on the back of the head for crying "Wolf." Looooooove youuuu.
Now on to the second part of my post as per blog title designation.
Last week my bosses asked me to dress "classy" for work because our main dude head honcho man of action in the faction was coming by to rev up the hotel. If you didn't understand that last sentence I basically said that our Regional/District/Something Manager was supposed to come by and point out at the hotel where we suck. So last night I went to bed at 11pm. Sleep did not happen. Benni decided that drinking a lot was the way to end his evening, and he thought it would be a good idea to play loud movies in the living room. Benni also figured that texting me random messages cussing at me for no apparent reason would also be a good idea. These are never good ideas when Phil has to wake up at 6am. Benni must die.
Anyways, I woke at 6am. Ever one to satiate my Bond-esque urges, I complied with my bosses request and donned the vivid cerulean button up and my trusty jet black Versini suit and headed into work.
The boss didn't come by.
In fact, he isn't coming by for another week! So there I am behind the desk looking sharp as a razor blade. Not to be completely narcissistic, but I got a lot of looks from da ladies. May sound ultra cool, but some of the looks I got were creepy as hell! Haha, there were two Mexican housekeepers that whistled at me as they passed. Quite funny.
Anyways, I just realized that this blog post is going absolutely nowhere. I'm gonna quit rambling and cut this post sho--

Endorphins or Accidental Cocaine Consumption?
Last night Benni and I went to Northgate with his two cousins. I had the most hectic shift at the Marriott and didn't leave work until 11pm. For some great reason I was so high on life yesterday I crashed HARD this morning. Benni explained to me it was probably those neat endorphin thingys satisfying all of my receptor thingamabobs in my head, and now that I don't have the receptors all filled I'm feeling the crash. Not a sad, depressing crash of course! I've had a lot of fun lately, but I'm just incredibly tired. I realized that I've been getting about six hours of sleep each night for the past week or so and I think it caught up with me =) It's also possible that somebody has been lacing my drinks with cocaine. That might explain things too!
I think I might have off tomorrow, and if I do, I'm going to find something different to do. I haven't played racquetball in a while, but I may have the urge to go to another city. BMW has been emailing me and asking when I'm going to test ride their new R1200 GS. That R1200 is my dream ride at the moment. I have many plans involving it and some cross country riding.
I've been wanting to visit Oregon for a while now, and I'd really like to ride through some of those tunnel trees in a big forest of redwoods. We'll see though =) I definitely plan on doing something this summer. Having my employee discount at Marriott Hotels is pretty cool, but I don't mind cheap camping either =)
Alas, I work the 3pm-11pm shift at the hotel today, which I assume is going to be as busy as it was yesterday. Afterwards I have no idea what I'm doing. We'll see how tired this old guy is at that point. There's a ring dunk, a dance hall,a swing dance party, and a relaxing book all calling my name.
I'm trying to think of something for everyone to think about until my next post, but I really can't think of anything. Oh, I guess I have some more advice. Double Meat w/ Tuna Salad and hot wing sauce Burgers taste good, but you'll sincerely regret you ate one. Just thought I'd mention that hehe.
Aight, I'm gonna go fool around and see if I can get 4 subwoofers running in the house. =D
Four 15s didn't see no wires, then I heard BOOM from da amplifias,

Hey Diddle Diddle!
Oo oi peoples!
Ok, well here I am again posting to you after a rather long hiatus. What can I say? Blog writing gets a little dull when there's nothing new to post! Anyways, this is gonna be some upbeat writing because I'm jammin out to some Redneck Yacht Club right now. Ok ok ok, so get this.
Last night I went out to the Texas Hall of Fame and danced all night long. I learned the Railroad and the Pretzel (I think that's what they're called hehe) and I actually picked it up pretty quickly! And they say I ain't got rhythm. Now I stepped on a lot of toes, but go BIG or go home! Haha, looking silly has always been a specialty of mine, but I felt I did pretty well. Oh and if you see someone who is sitting on the sidelines looking bored or sad, ask them to dance! Just because she's not your type doesn't mean that you y'all can't have fun. Thanks to Lindsey and Allison for showing me such sweet moves by the way!
Anyways, I need to list the things I've found great joy in recently:
Free Breakfast at the Hotel
Disc Golf
Kickball
Dancing
Upbeat Music
Here's some advice.
If you're living your life full of stress, what's the point in living? Kick back, enjoy some upbeat music that makes you laugh, go to the park, play in the rain, get dirty! Today I played Frolf for an hour or two and also test drove an '09 Mustang GT that was standard. I spun tires and drove it like I stole it. Guess what. FREE. Those car dealerships ain't sellin right now! They're bored! Discs at Play it Again Sports are a whopping 5 bucks. Throw a circle. Drive a new car. Do something =P
So you work all day? Have a minor prank war with coworkers, wear some bright colored clothes, do your hair differently, use big words for no reason! These days people are freakin' out about the evil deadly swine flu, the economy, pirates, the war, school, money, and all sorts of stuff! Learn to let go of the things you can't control.
This last month or so I've been REALLY active. My arms are incredibly tan and it's only just now May. It is one hell of a farmers tan, but hey, people always see my neck, head and arms =)
Aight, that's really about it. Y'alls homework is to make a list of joys.
Double Pits to Chesty Yo,
Phil

Short Update/Frolfing/Hotel
It's sunny outside and I need to get some exercise so here goes.
I've started playing a lot of Frisbee and Disc Golf lately. If you've never played Disc Golf (Frisbee Golf/Frolfing/The Blasted Hippie Sport) then you're missing out! Go to Academy, get a Mid-Range Disc in the "Disc Golf" section for $7.57 and go out to Wolf Pen, Zilker, hell any grassy area. We don't quite play by the real rules because we suck =) Compete with your friends to see who can fill each hole in the least amount of strokes (TDUBZ!).
Let's see, I had an awesome weekend BEFORE Easter with Kelly and Michael. Went home and went frolfing with Michael, then out to his Dad's lakehouse to pick up a washing machine and dryer (We got the wrong ones lol). We ended up grabbing a few beers and kayaking out to an island to explore.) We took bluebonnet pictures the next day, which was fun at the LBJ Wildflower Center.
(That summed up that weekend. Tried to make it quick.)
Ok, I work at a hotel. "Thank you for calling the College Station - Courtyard by Marriott. How may I direct your call?" I work the front desk, engineering crew, facilities (glorified janitor) and I'm about to start doing guest transportation on Wednesday. It's decent pay for around this town and I get plenty of hours in. I worked the most I have in probably the last year or so. Probably about 48-50 hours of work in a week. I've got some serious bills to pay so that's great with me!
Nothing except work and enjoying the outdoors has happened really in the last week though (7am-3pm shifts kick arse, I get so much of the day!), so standy by for more exciting updates.
I think I've found out that if I write shorter posts, I can have more of them since they won't be such a drain on time.... Neat!

Dr. Manlove or How I Learned to Stop Being ADHD and Blog
Kelly posted on my Facebook wall today and ordered me to post in my blog.
I'll do far more than that. I'll give the thing a new look because it looks too....Picasoesque during his Blue Period. It's time to spice it up with some color, or at least make it happier looking. Since I haven't had work for the last two days (grrrr...), and I probably won't go in tomorrow until mid-morning, I'll be "productive."
Also today I'll do a shoutout to Bob. I really can't remember if I've mentioned Bob in a previous post, but I'm way too lazy to use the search function.
Here goes.
Bob or R.A. Salvatore (Robert), for those that don't know, is an author of my favorite book series: The Drizzt Do'Urden Novels. Take the concept of racism and marinate it in a fantastical setting sauce, sprinkle it with sword fighting and magic, and you'll get the idea. Drizzt (pronounced Driz-It Dough-uhr-Den) is a drow (or Dark Elf) who grew up in an underground society where everyone is a totally evil selfish asshole. You really get the picture when you learn that the society is matriarchal (Of course this is fiction because women are inferior and would never rule over us awesome Manly Men) and they worship spiders. Think black widows. (Note: I hate those damn spiders. Frakkin' creepy as Gordon Liddy. Anyways, he battles his way and kicks some total ass and emerges onto the surface of the world and tries to be a nice guy, but the rest of the world just won't accept him because he's a dark elf (He's basically black, see the connection?)
Yes. I'm a geek at times. You can go fly a kite for all I care, because when it comes to reading, you don't mess with the Zohan. Anyways, I've been reading Bob's novels ever since Aaron Clay got me into them when I started working at Sears. Aaron's black and always tells me that we need to stick it to the man (and that I need to get darker via the sun for that matter) so it kind of makes sense that he'd be reading them. A-Klay 47, if you're reading this, Love yooooooouuuuu ;)
Bad news bears lately. I lost my phone charger. Thanks to Brian for lettin' me borrow his spare phone and charger, but I'm really missing my old phone. My ringtone on this phone sounds like the Bounty commercial and Chris Bundick(olas) likes to give me crap for that.
Hmmmm, only one month and 21 days till I can apply for Sealift Command. I'm pretty stoked about it still and any time a show about ships, freightors, or shipping comes on Discovery I'm awatchin' it.
Also some neat things. I've been thinking a bit more about graphic design as a fallback plan. I've been dabbling with the Photoshop arts since Junior year of high school and it's come in handy lately. I've had a few highly-motivated people in certain A&M organizations ask me to create logos and such. One girl mentioned that I should really look into doing it professionally.
Hmmmm... We'll see. Maybe I'll just take some classes randomly and see where I can go from there. Maybe a bit of freelance work from time to time? Maybe I'll do it for like 10% less than other companies are asking. Oh well.
Ok, well I'm doneskis for now with this post....I'll do my best to post more often.
With our powers combined,
Captain Phil

Tyres, Racism and the Finer Points of Melted Wheels
An inconceivable event has occurred in Don Felipe's life!
As unbelievably frugal as I am, I FINALLY bought new tires for the ZX6; I haven't got her new shoes since the bike was even purchased months and months ago. YES WE CAN...er...I DID. Sorry, all this Obama-fanaticism has me using copious amounts of duct tape and electrical wire at work in the spirit of "presidential solutions". Chuckle chuckle =) Also in the spirit of racism, bigotry, prejudice, and redundancy, we had Gook Night over at Bundick's house on Wednesday (On Wednesday's the crew gets together and we cook a big dinner and hang out). Gook Night included stir-fry, sake, and rice. Not too shabby eh? Sadly, I forgot an oriental (which is a rug and not something you call one of asian descent) movie. So instead of samurai swords or ninjas we rode around INSIDE the house on a bmx bike. The bike has shocks and pegs (luuuucky!) and Chris was able to give me an awesome elementary-school-style pump around the house. Mind you, this is not a lot of room to do this. We rode outside, off a step and decided that going down the stairs of the porch was not in our best interests.
We took to the road.
Using both our brawn and brilliance we used a towstrap to pull someone on a skateboard. This is harder than you think, and so I ran inside and grabbed Chris' rolling desk chair. DUDE! You can go so fast behind a bike whilst sitting on a rolly chair! Going around the block is really hard unless the skateboarder is holding onto the chair. So imagine if you will, Bike + Rolly Chair + Skateboard. YES. Awesome. You can steer the rolly chair with the board, but you have to be careful going around corners quickly because you'll swing out like wakeboarding. SWEET. Yeah, offroading is awesome until the wheels melt off and you eat the ol' proverbial dirt.
Ooo, I got my second 10'' sub through my trade with Cliff, which is sweet because now I have two 10s and a 12 in my collection.
Work has been quasi-fun with my coworker Corey, whose blog I will soon add a link for. Careful, it's cynical as hell but rather amusing. Everyday a new idea for a wacky (yet well thought out) business or contraption. These include highly dangerous ways of making our job easier. It's too bad that the ideas never come to fruition, but it's certainly food for thought. I like my bosses aplenty; Karan and Virgil Marko have been more than accomodating. Of course one has to sometimes see through the occasional temper tantrums Virgil will throw (No offense meant if you're reading this Kyle) or the hilarious mispellings[sic] on random file boxes. Today I noticed "Finical Documents" on one, and at one point there was a sign above the sink that read "Warsh Your Dishes" which is reminiscent of Karan's accent. Hehehe, for the most part I don't mind the work because there are always little quirks and gobs of variety when it comes to the jobsite. For instance, today we cleaned a professors home whose house looked JUST like a library! So many books, so little time. Yet somehow he finds the time to read most or all of them. Sheesh.
Quick update: The Tower of Cancerous Death (Dip can tower) is now over 6' tall. I think I might have said it was that high a while back, but Benni and I have added like 12 new cans or something. Also, 23 hours of community service left. Only 12 days left until my probation is half over! Sweet.
And that's it. If I didn't hate the Porky Pig famous "That's all folks" outro, I would do it. So....
Making like a leaf, and getting out of here,

Makin' my way!
Things have been a little crazy around here lately with the amount of hours I've been putting in at work. Put in a crapload last week at a water damage site over at Merril Lynch and for the last few days I've been stripping tile over at another customer's house. I haven't spent any time going out and I've been in bed no later than 11 o'clock every day. It's interesting being on a normal schedule! I think that for the past 4 years I've spent more time awake at night then I have during the day. It's probably pretty close considering the last 4 years have been spent at Texas State and Texas A&M. Always some social function or some random reason to be awake at all hours.
So with my probation and court fees it's been tough trying to find the money to pay all the rest of my bills. A boy's gotta eat ya know. Well now that school has started up for the rest of the people here in town, my bosses Virgil and Karan have made Corey and I the fulltime employees at Brazos Cleaning and Restoration Co! I've calculated it out and as of today I'm able to cover all of my monthly bills. Sawweeeeet!
I still have 40 hours of community service to deal with over the next month and I'm prayin' I get it done in time. I've finally finished 2 out of 6 months of my deferred adjudication so 4 more months until Military Sealift Command! Probation payments will be done by next month so with that extra cash I'm not spending I can finally afford to get my passport, TWIC card, and Merchant Mariners Document. After February 24th (the deadline for my community service and probation payments) it'll be smooth sailing (or motoring...sealift command doesn't use sails...)!
Also something of note. I've come up with some longterm plans to open up a Motorcycle/ATV rental shop somewhere here in the states. Find a tract of land and offer motorcycle and ATV tours of some beautiful environment. Can't decide if I want to do motorcycles or dirtbikes really but maybe I can do both later on! Have some cabins that people can stay in for vacations and all. Would be pretty sweet.
I'm not sure where I want to start it up, but Oregon, Utah, and Arkansas come to mind. I was thinking about California...but I don't really want to live there and I really only want to go to Northern California.
Anyways, we'll see!
Kick ass and chew bubble gum,
Duke Nukem

Haircut
In an effort to bring in the New Year with a more dignified look, I got a haircut!
Yep! Shaggy Felipe is no more. My hair saw a lot in the last year! It saw the end of a long relationship with Kristin (who's baby will be coming sometime soon!) and the start of tons of friendships at Sears! I was there for a long time and I'd say most of the people in my crew of friends all worked there. Of course we all hate the place, but that's not the point. Motorcycle trips, becoming an uncle, rooming with Benni, and tobacco usage are all interesting twists life has taken in the last year.
Nostalgia can be cool, but who cares! I went camping Friday night out on Chris' land in Hearne with him, Nick, John and Demetrious. Shot my first clay pidgeon and we downed a couple of gaylord birds. Too bad we were using shorter-barrel shotguns, those buzzards were looking to get shot and all we could manage were some tiny lame-os. We found out that using a knife from WWII works quite well for flipping burgers and the best jalapeno burgers are made with an iron skillet on top of a fire. Throw in a capful of jalapeno juice and BAM! You've got badass burgers Emeril-style. We also went tree-surfing with a towstrap and an old dead tree behind Chris' Chevy, which was short-lived but pretty fun =)
After we got back from Hearne I was exhausted but Karan Marko called me in for some work at a location with some flood damage. I appreciate her calling as I need the money but wooo! I really pushed and pushed to stay awake during that job. I came away feeling great and somewhat productive.
So I'm just cleaning up the house (and there isn't much to do!) and probably gonna make some food. It's a beautiful day and Cliff is coming over to hang out. Maybe we'll do something extraordinary!
Asta la vista baby,
Phil
